Remembrance By Lauren Loveless Jalufka

When I think of my Uncle Bill, I think of his loud, contagious laugh, his love for others, and his passion for The Lord and ministry. God used him in mighty ways to help further His Kingdom on Earth through Christ is Life Ministries.

As I’m sure you all know, his passion for The Lord only became stronger since receiving his cancer diagnosis. My husband, Jake, and I had the privilege of spending time with he and Aunt Paige a couple weeks ago and witnessed this firsthand. Despite his circumstances, we could see the joy of The Lord radiating through him. He told us that he felt closer to God than ever. He said felt like he was living somewhere between heaven and earth, and that he was experiencing revelations and intimacy with the Lord like never before. He told us that The Lord had revealed to him that his least favorite thing to hear when his children arrive to heaven is “wow! This is what intimacy feels like!”

God wants us to experience heavenly intimacy while we are on earth. Scripture tells us that we actually are seated in heavenly places. Ephesians 4:2-6 says “God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that we have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:20 tells us we are “citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.”

I’ve reflected on this revelation that Uncle Bill shared with us a lot these last couple of weeks and it has already made a big impact in my life. Uncle Bill continued to honor the calling of ministry on his life even on his last days by ministering to Jake and me. Jake and I will never forget the big smile across Uncle Bill’s face as he told us about the things God was revealing to him and encouraged us to continue pursuing intimacy with The Lord. We will cherish our time with him and love him forever. We praise God knowing we will get to hear his laugh again one day.
