“Enjoying God” Quotes

There is a book I have been reading that is the most powerful book I have read concerning God’s desire for an intimate relationship with us. In this letter, I want to encourage you with some of my favorite quotes from this book. These quotes are the ones the Lord used most to reveal His heart for a deeper relationship with you and me. If you have not read this book, I hope you will get a copy. It is available in paperback as well as in the Kindle format.

“Enjoying God” Quotes

Life with God was meant to be a love affair of the heart. Page 1

You may not realize it, but the Father is ravished by you. You make Him smile. You make Him laugh. You make Him leap for joy. You make His heart beat faster. In Zephaniah 3:17 the Bible even says you make Him sing for joy. Whether you understand that or not doesn’t stop God from responding to you in that way. Page 3

There is a place within you—a deep place—that only God can touch. It’s in that place that God’s echoing invitation emerges and penetrates your spirit. It’s the invitation not only to experience Him but also to enjoy Him. This call comes out of an even deeper place, a deeper longing, in the heart of God. As much as you may want Him, He wants you more. Page 8

The lover of your heart is calling you, wooing you, and pursuing you. He is constantly trying to get your attention, your affections, and your heart. Page 11

He wants lovers who will submit to Him from their hearts. He desires a people who are driven by love rather than by outward form or ritual. He longs for a lovesick bride. Page 26

We have little or no idea what impact our love and devotion have on God’s heart. He is overcome by weak, broken people who simply love Him. Page 32

The Father doesn’t define your life by what you do. He defines your life by who He created you to be for Himself. He doesn’t want your efforts as much as He wants you. He enjoys your worship. He enjoys the times that you think about Him. But most of all He enjoys you. Page 65

John understood that he was special to the One who is able to love each of us as if we were His favorite. Page 83

Do you know that God wants to bare His heart to you? He wants to whet your appetite for a deeper relationship with Him. He wants to apprehend your life so you can know above all else that you were created for Him. Page 98

Ultimately, the only thing that will liberate the human heart from the slavery of sin is the supreme satisfaction found in God. Page 124

There is perhaps no better way to enjoy God than to see Him for who He really is. The more we meditate on the scriptures, take to heart the breathtaking truths about God, and allow them to saturate our minds and emotions, the more we’ll become fascinated by His beauty. Paige 125

God alone is beautiful in an absolute sense. He is infinitely splendid. He is glorious in majesty, and His grandeur is incomprehensible. He has put Himself on display in the art gallery of the universe and invited us to bask in His beauty and enjoy Him to the fullest. Page 125

The Father wants you to become addicted to Him. He wants your heart to be seized by the matchless value and delight of His being. Paige 127

Jesus wants a lovesick bride who will cherish Him above everything else. Lovesick people will endure anything and go anywhere for love. Page 132

I believe that when the church becomes lovesick through a revelation of the Father’s love, we will see the church emerge in all the power and glory God intended it to have. Page 135

Enjoying God is all about intimacy with God. It’s about knowing Him and being known by Him. It’s experiencing His love and responding to it. It’s serving Him out of a sincere desire to please Him because he is the supreme pleasure of your life. Page 145

You were born for intimacy with the Father. The nearness of God to your heart is the crowning glory of your life on earth. There is nothing more fulfilling than experiencing the tangible, manifest presence of the Father. Page 145

One of the greatest evidences of humility is seen when a person feels broken, empty, and dry but says to the Father, “In spite of all the hassles I am experiencing, You are worth everything. I am going to keep opening up my heart and mind to Your love until you reveal Yourself to me in deeper ways.” Page 147

You must persist in your yearning for Him, know that in due time the longing of your heart will be satisfied beyond anything you could ever imagine. Page 147

I believe that both Scriptures and experience suggests that we are the ones who determine the depth of intimacy that we enjoy with the Father. At this very moment, we are as close to Him as we have chosen to be. Page 149

God’s real purpose is to make us so lovesick that we’ll want Him more than anything else. When our desire for Him is greater than we’ve ever experienced before, he will answer the cry of our hearts and make Himself known to us in ways we never imagined. Page 157

I believe we’re coming into a season of time when the Father is going to reveal Himself in such a way that He will capture the heart of a generation. I want you to be a part of that. Open your heart to your heavenly Father. Let Him embrace you in His love. Let Him bathe your mind and emotions with His tender affections. He wants to be your heart’s delight. He wants you to enjoy Him forever. Page 174

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, I long for and want to experience the depths of Your heart. Spirit of God, do for me what only You can do. Take the scales off of my mind and my eyes. Free my heart to recognize You as the divine romancer. I ask that You awaken my heart to get back in touch with my God-placed feelings, passions, and desires for a divine adventure and romance with You. Captivate me, Lord, that I may love You like never before. Let me experience the fullness of Your love—which goes beyond height, depth, and length—until I am fully alive in You. In Jesus’s name.
