Isn’t that true of our Christian life? When God gives us revelation, it seems that we must walk in that revelation by faith before it becomes part of our experience. Such was the case in 1995 when God began revealing to me that the Christian life was more about intimacy and relationship than about legalism and performance. When you first look at the book’s title through a nonChrist focused lens, the word “practicing” sounds like man’s effort to apprehend God.
"Do You Ever Feel Like Giving Up?"
"Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this NEW way, we NEVER give up."
2 Corinthians 4:1 (NLT)
You may be at that place today where you feel like giving up on God or giving up on the Christian life. If you are not at that place today, have you ever had thoughts before like these: "When is God going to come through?";"Why hasn't He done something to deliver me from this situation or relationship?"; "How long am I going to suffer or be in this conflict?"

The Discipleship Booklets
“A” Life? or “THE” Life? (Which Christian Life Are You Living?)
Many Christians don’t know the difference between “A” Christian life and “THE” Christian life. The problem with not knowing the difference is that you may not be living the Christian life that God intended because living “A” Christian life will lead to more defeat, more bondage and no change in your life. However, knowing and living “THE” Christian life will make all of God’s promises an experiential reality in your life.
Press On (When You Have Need Of Christ’s Endurance)
As Christians, we have or will eventually face overwhelming circumstances in our lives. Whether it be internal struggless or external struggles with a spouse, kids, co-workers or other relationships. It can be circumstantial struggles such as divorce, health issues, or job related circumstances. When adversity strikes we have need of a greater endurance than our own. Therefore, this booklet focuses on what spiritual endurance looks like, some of the hindrances to enduring, and what it looks like practically to endure in the midst of the adversities we face in life.
Stress? Or Rest? (Where Are You Living?)
I don't know the stresses that you are facing today but I think that you will agree with me that we all face stresses in life internally as well as externally. Whether it is circumstantial, relational, health, or worldly stress, we are experiencing stress in our lives. Unfortunately, what I am seeing is that many Christians are taking ownership of their stress with the result that they internalize the stressors in their lives. As a result, the overflow of their stress is toxic to themselves as well as to everyone around them. The question is: Does God intend for us to take ownership of any of life’s stresses or are we designed to live from Christ’s rest? This booklet will give you the answer to this question.
Who Are You? (Do You Know Your True Identity?)
Most Christians I have come across don’t know that they have a new identity in Christ. Nobody told me I had a new identity until 30 years into my Christian walk. The truth of my true identity in Christ so radically changed every area of my life that I felt led to go into full-time ministry to proclaim this incredible truth. Therefore, if you don’t know your true identity then I hope that you will take advantage of the truths in this booklet to discover and live from your true identity in Christ.
What Did You Expect?
This booklet focuses on the following topics:
- What are realistic and unrealistic expectations about God, yourself, marriage, circumstances, and your Christian walk.
- How unmet expectations negatively impact you, your relationship with God, your relationships with others and your Christian walk.
- How Satan uses your unmet expectations against you.
- What it looks like to engage God and His truth to overcome your unmet expectations.
Wounded? (Healing the Wounded Heart)
Have you been wounded in the past through sexual, emotional, physical or verbal abuse? Or have you been wounded through traumatic events such as divorce or the early death of a loved one? As a result of your woundedness, are you experiencing such feelings, such as anger, frustration, hopelessness, unforgiveness, etc.? If so, this booklet is focused on God’s truth concerning the healing of your woundedness.
This booklet focuses on the following topics:
- The two types of woundedness: overt and covert.
- The negative impact of woundedness in our lives.
- Ways in which we try to cope with our woundedness.
- What it looks like to engage God to be healed of our woundedness.
What's Next? Now That You Are Saved, How Do
You Live Life?)
This booklet’s main focus is to introduce new Christians to “THE” life we have in Christ. It focuses on understanding that the next step in living the Christian life is to understand what it means for Christ to be our Source for living the Christian life.
The Battle Of The Mind (Are You Winning The Battle?)
There is a non-stop battle going on for the control of what you think. In this battle, you have internal and external enemies that want to steal, kill, and destroy your walk with God. Their primary way of accomplishing this goal is through your thought life. These enemies create a battle in your mind and for your mind. Since understanding the battle of the mind so crucial to our Christian walk, I will be sharing the following topics in this booklet:
- What is the battle of the mind.
- Who the enemies are in this battle.
- What the consequences are if we don’t engage God in the battle.
- How we engage God to win the battle of the mind.
